Dec. 8 2021.
We apologize for the recent delays in Cook County, IL as this area is currently experiencing significant delays. Our researchers are at the court daily and have provided an in depth description of the largest contributors to these delays. Details are listed here:
- This is a manually searched jurisdiction. A researcher must physically walk into a courthouse to perform research. The court has limited terminals because of COVID-19 restrictions, essentially cutting the number of terminals in half.
- Researchers are restricted to a limited time at any single terminal. This is usually 45 minutes or less. At that time they are required to step away and wait for other terminals to open up.
- There have been sporadic terminal outages over the last few months which further exacerbate delays.
As the county plays catch up and tries to keep up with requests, we appreciate your patience. We can assure you that our teams are working the best we can to get results back as quick as possible.
