One of our responsibilities as a consumer reporting agency is to ensure that we report results in an unbiased and objective manner. The use of certain colours in reports, for example, red and green, may have connotations to “bad” and “good”, respectively. From both a moral and legal standpoint it is problematic to infer that a candidate's background check is good or bad based on their results. For this reason, Certn is moving towards a more unbiased colour scheme, without compromising a client's ability to review potentially concerning results.
For the new colour scheme we are removing the use of red in our reports, and are instead using yellow along with a "slow down and analyze" icon (similar to a yield road sign) to indicate where one should review results.
The following sections provide more details about what the new unbiased colour scheme will look like.
