The Certn × Lever integration makes it simple for your team to run background checks directly from Lever. By designating a specific Lever stage as the trigger, you can automate when background checks are initiated.

What is a "stage" in Lever?
In Lever, stages are steps in your hiring pipeline. They help you track where a candidate is in the process. When you create a new job opportunity in Lever, you have the opportunity to add stages to the application procedure to help you track the progress of the different candidates through the application or interview process.
For example, a candidate might move through stages like: ‘New Applicant’ | ‘Phone Screen’ | ‘On-site interview’ | ‘Reference Check’
Stages are customizable in Lever, so your team can design them to match your workflow.
How the Trigger Stage Works
With the Certn integration, you can choose which Lever stage should trigger a background check.
For example:
- You might want a background check to run after the on-site interview is complete, once you’re confident in the candidate.
- In this case, you would select the Reference Check stage as the trigger during integration setup.
When a candidate is moved into that stage, Certn will automatically create a background check case using the package you’ve assigned.
