What is a "stage" in Lever?

When you create a new Job opportunity in Lever, you have the opportunity to add stages to the application procedure to help you track the progress of the different candidates through the application or interview process. For example, your candidate can move from being in the "New applicant" stage to an "On-site interview" stage to "Reference check" stage.

Background check trigger stage

You may want to initiate a background check when the applicant reaches a particular stage in the application process. For example you may want to run a background check when the candidate has completed their "On-site interview" and are ready to move on to the "Reference check" stage. You then set the "Reference check" stage as the trigger for a background check during the Certn-Lever integration setup. All you have to do is take note of the name of the stage you want the background check triggered by, and at it in the appropriate field during setup.
