Overview

CV Review is a check that can be added onto Employment, Education, or Experience Verification checks, that automatically compares the CV or resume you hold for a candidate against the information they declare on their screening form. Using AI extraction, it highlights matches, discrepancies, and gaps between the two — instantly, with no manual work required.

With CV Review you can:

• Automatically compare a candidate's CV/resume against their screening form answers
• Get instant results — CV Review doesn't wait on the underlying verification check to complete
• See a clear, side-by-side breakdown of what matches, differs, or appears on only one document
• Order it via the Certn Client Portal or through the API

How to order CV Review

CV Review is ordered as an add-on alongside one of the following checks:

• Employment Verification
• Education Verification
• Experience Verification

It cannot be ordered on its own.

In the Client Portal:

1. When ordering Employment, Education, or Experience Verification, select the CV Review checkbox
2. Upload the candidate's CV or resume (PDF or DOCX, up to 10MB)
3. Review the information extracted from the CV before confirming — anything outside the scope of your template will be marked as excluded
4. Confirm your order

Via the API:

CV Review can be included in your order payload alongside structured CV/resume data.

How it works

Once a candidate submits their screening form, CV Review runs automatically and instantly using AI extraction and matching logic. There's no need to wait for the Employment, Education, or Experience Verification to complete.

CV Review compares:

• Employment details: company, job title, start and end dates
• Education details: institution, qualification, field of study, start and end dates

It only compares information within the scope of your configured template (e.g. your lookback period or number of employers).

Note: CV Review compares the CV against what the candidate self-declares — it does not independently verify this information with a third party.

Reading your results

Your case report will show:

• Employment results and Education results in separate sections, most recent first
• A side-by-side view of what was on the CV vs. what the candidate declared
• A result for each item: Match, Discrepancy, Only on CV, or Only on Screening Form

FAQs

Why does my CV Review result show before the Employment/Education Verification is complete?

CV Review is instant and runs as soon as the candidate submits their screening form. It doesn't wait for the underlying verification check to finish.

Does CV Review verify information with a third party?

No. CV Review is a comparison of the CV/resume against the candidate's self-declared information only. A "Match" result means the two sources agree — it isn't independent verification.

Can I order CV Review for Education only if I've also ordered Employment Verification?

No. When Employment and Education Verification are ordered together, a single CV Review applies across both.
