You can personalize your Certn experience by adding your company logo and selecting a primary brand colour. This helps candidates and team members recognize your organization, builds trust, and creates a consistent brand experience throughout the background check process.
Note: If no logo is uploaded, Certn’s default branding will be used.

- Review the preview, then click Save.
Once saved, your logo will appear immediately in the client and applicant portals and in any future emails.
Select your brand colour
In addition to your logo, you can select a primary brand colour to further customize your experience.
To set your brand colour:
- Go to Settings → Branding.
- Use the colour picker or enter a HEX code for your primary brand colour.
- Preview how the colour appears in light and dark mode.

This ensures your branding looks consistent and remains readable across all experiences.
Logo file requirements
| Requirement | Details |
| File type | PNG or JPG |
| Minimum width | 300 pixels |
| Background | Transparent preferred |
Tips for the best branding display
- Use PNG whenever possible — supports transparent backgrounds and displays crisply.
- Choose a clear brand colour — avoid extremely light or dark colours for best contrast.
- Preview before saving — check both light and dark mode to ensure readability.
- Keep logos simple — minimal detail works best across portals and emails.
Where your branding appears
Once saved, your logo and brand colour appear in:
- The Certn Centric client portal
- The applicant portal
- Emails sent to applicants and other users added to your account
- Optional: PDF report with the case information
Important notes:
- Branding applies only to emails sent after the logo and/or brand colour is saved.
- If an applicant is completing checks for multiple clients, their applicant dashboard will display Certn’s default branding.
- If no branding is configured, Certn’s default logo and colours are used automatically.
Troubleshooting
Is your logo not showing?
- Confirm you have permission to edit Client Settings.
- Ensure the file is a PNG or JPG and meets the size requirements.
- Refresh your browser or clear your cache.
- Remember: only emails sent after saving branding will show updates.
Is your brand colour not applying as expected?
- Confirm the colour was saved successfully.
- Check both light and dark mode previews.
- Note that some elements use automatically generated colour variations for accessibility.
Does your logo look blurry or distorted?
- Use a high-resolution PNG file with at least 300px width.
