Age requirements for background checks

Applicants must be at least 18 years old to complete a background check through Certn.

Can I complete a background check if I am under 18?

No. If you are under 18 or considered a minor, you cannot complete a Certn background check. The check cannot proceed until you are at least 18 years old.

Can my parent or guardian provide consent?

No. Certn cannot accept parental consent or consent from a parent or guardian on behalf of an applicant under 18.

Once you turn 18, the organization requesting the background check can send you a new request if the check is still required.
