A new feature is now available to clients who wish to send SMS or text message notifications to candidates to start their background check.
How does it work?
Once the SMS feature is enabled, clients can input a phone number in addition to the candidate’s email when sending an application. To learn how to screen an applicant via the web application, please refer to this Certn Help article. When the candidate receives the notification via SMS (they will also receive one via email), they will be prompted to enter both their phone number and email address to proceed with the application. Reminder notifications to complete an application are sent to the candidate after 24 and 48 hours.

In an increasingly mobile landscape, Certn constantly aims to improve the candidate and client experience. SMS invites reduce friction and decrease the time it takes to complete an application.
