Update to Certn's global Privacy Policy - July 2025

To make our data practices easier to understand, we’ve made a few updates to Certn’s global Privacy Policy. These changes are all about making things clearer for you and for the people you screen.

• Clearer roles: We now explain when we process data on your behalf and when we’re managing it directly with candidates.
• More transparency: We’ve outlined what data we collect, why we need it, and how it’s used across different background checks.
• New features explained: You’ll find new sections covering direct user interactions and how we use AI to support (not decide) background checks.
• Simplified user rights: It’s now easier for candidates to access, update, or delete their data, with country-specific guidance.
• Find what you need, faster: Our new updated layout includes summaries, and simplified navigation to help you and your candidates get the answers you need even quicker. 
   

Why this is important

• Your candidates will have a better understanding of how their data is used and what their rights are.
• Nothing is changing in how your data is protected. This update is about clarity, not policy changes.
