What are the application scores?
When you place an order with Certn for one or more background checks, the application appears as a line item in your dashboard. The dashboard view allows you to see basic information about your applications, including the application’s score.
What do the application scores mean?
There are three possible scores: None, Review (REV), and Clear (CLR). While each application should always be evaluated in full, the scores can be used to draw your attention to those applications where results should be evaluated. The score updates as results from different checks are returned. For example, a score of Clear on an in-progress application can change to a score of Review as additional background check information is returned. For this reason, it is important to review the application once all checks are complete.
Application score | Description |
A score of None typically indicates that the candidate has not yet submitted the application, or they submitted the application, but results are still pending.
A score of Review indicates that the application has results that are ready for review. Opening the report should help you to understand which results to review. A Review score does not necessarily indicate something negative about your candidate. For example, if an employment reference was ordered, a Review score will usually occur to indicate that one should review the subjective opinions of the candidate’s reference. Each check has its own set of results that can be returned that may contribute to a report score of Review.
A score of Clear usually occurs when the report does not include reportable findings. It is still important to review your report to ensure you understand the results and can make informed decisions for you and your business. |
