What are the benefits?
CertnCentric has been built as a task management platform to help you work smarter, not harder. The new interface is designed to enhance your experience and streamline your workflow. Gone are the days of searching through individual cases. Now, you'll find a clear, organized view of tasks needing your attention right on your dashboard. With just a few clicks, you can take action on next steps, making your screening process smoother and more efficient than ever.
We're thrilled for you to experience the benefits of CertnCentric firsthand. Here's a sneak peek of what you can expect in the new platform:
1. Enhanced screening efficiency
Reduce time spent on follow-ups and screening management. Manage your screening portfolio more efficiently with clear visibility into which cases need your attention and what the exact status is.
- Orders at a glance: Get real-time updates on where your orders are at, including how many are active, ready for review, and complete.
- Tasks at a glance: See everything that needs your attention or decision, including “ready for review” or “email undeliverable.”
2. Improved organization and customization
Manage large volumes of checks with ease by tailoring the platform to your needs.
- Organize cases by group: Track and organize screening cases seamlessly by creating groups by region or team. Once cases are ordered, you will find them organized in your groups, providing better control over your screening portfolio.
- Create custom tags: Easily organize and filter cases with custom tags. Associate cases by team, role, or job level to organize background checks.
- View new report statuses: Track your cases in real-time without contacting support. CertnCentric provides detailed, up-to-date statuses directly in the platform, including whether applicants have started or opened their background checks.
3. Clear reports on-the-go
Make informed decisions quickly and confidently.
- Reports on-the-go: Access mobile-friendly reports to stay connected and make timely decisions even when away from your desk.
- Easy decision-making: Get notified when a case is ready for your review and mark applications with your decision directly in the report.
4. Applicant Profiles
Streamline your workflow and efficiently access critical applicant information with Profiles. Profiles serve as your central hub for all applicant details, providing a single, consolidated view and enabling easier applicant management. Effortlessly assess associated checks, tags, and report statuses at a glance.
5. Billing updates
This new platform has upgraded billing features that make your screening account more flexible, customized, and convenient.
- Flexible billing profiles: Tailor your invoicing to fit your specific business requirements. Set up multiple profiles with unique company information and designated recipients - eliminating the previous limitations of team-based invoicing. Easily consolidate cases from various groups into a single invoice and select specific team members to receive it.
- Applicant cost tracking: Track costs per applicant easier than ever. Checks will now be grouped into cases when you order multiple checks for one applicant. Checks are not added to an invoice until all checks within a case are closed.
- Usage report: Each invoice will now include a usage report providing case details. This gives you a comprehensive view of your screening activities while maintaining applicant confidentiality with anonymized data.
- Invoice customization: Easily tailor your invoices with any billing-specific information like your company name, address, and sales tax number.

When will I be upgraded?
Our team is carefully managing each client's migration. Keep an eye on your inbox and the legacy platform (app.certn.co) for notices. We'll send multiple notifications to your user email as we lead up to your selected upgrade window and will let you know when it's time to upgrade your account.
Can I still use Certn's legacy platform?
You can continue using the Certn's legacy platform for checks until you receive an upgrade notice. After receiving the notice, you'll have time to explore CertnCentric before the cut-off date. Post cut-off, you can view old checks on Legacy but must place any new orders on CertnCentric.

Anything else I need to know?
Creating a new order
Follow this guided demo for more detail on how to order a check:
Creating groups
Cases in CertnCentric are ordered and sorted by groups. Groups are also used in organizing billing information by assigning each group to a billing profile. Learn more about groups in this article.
Managing tags
Sort and organize your cases in CertnCentric by creating and applying case tags to your cases as you order them. Learn how to apply tags to a case in this article.
Billing
- Multiple Invoices: During the transition, you may receive two invoices—one for checks completed on the legacy platform and one for checks completed on the CertnCentric platform during the same billing period. Once you start ordering checks in CertnCentric exclusively, you’ll move back to receiving one invoice.
- Pricing: Prices will remain consistent with the legacy platform where possible.
- Payment Methods: You can pay via bank transfer, cheque, or credit card. Currently, you can pay each invoice as they are issued.
Changes to checks:
OneID
With the introduction of CertnCentric, there are some minor changes to how OneID results work.
- New ‘Rejected’ Status: Previously, our fulfillment teams would follow-up with applicants who did not pass a OneID session following manual review. Now in CertnCentric, Clients will receive a ‘Rejected’ status if an applicant does not pass a OneID session. In this case, a client will need to re-issue a new check for the applicant.
- New ‘Discrepancy’ status: In CertnCentric we have introduced a new status that will show when verified details do not match what was entered by the applicant. In this case, the status indicates that OneID was successfully able to extract verified details from the applicant’s ID and all checks that require OneID verification will still continue to run, but the discrepancy status is flagged with the client to inform their decision on applicant processing.
Softcheck
Certn has introduced three new checks to the platform that replace what was formerly known as Softcheck in the legacy platform:
- Adverse Media (AM) check: An Adverse Media (AM) check surfaces from the web any media publications that may reference the applicant. The results may consist of news articles, blogs, press releases and other open source information and may be adverse, neutral or positive in tone.
- Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) check: A Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) check searches against a range of industry-standard PEP sources for known political affiliations that the applicant may have. These sources include open-source databases, government lists and other third party proprietary sources.
- Global Watchlist & Sanctions (GWS) check: A Global Watchlist & Sanctions (GWS) check searches for matches to the applicant against a litany of international government sanctions and watchlists. The sources are standard across the industry and include standard OFAC SDN, US ITA, UK and EU sanctions lists.
