Add Certn Stage to your Interview Plan
- From the "All Jobs" tab in Greenhouse, select the job that you want to run background checks for.
- Select the "Job Setup", and then "Interview Plan" from the left-hand menu.

- A popup will appear where you can select and add the "Certn {Region}" as a stage in your candidate screening procedures.

- Note: You will only see one Certn Stage to add in your environment.
- Once added, you can edit the stage from this view and choose where it fits best in your hiring flow.
Run a background check
- To run a check, select a candidate, navigate to the "Stage" section
- Expand the "Certn" stage and click "Send test".
💡 Remember to move your candidate into this stage to accurately track the progress of your candidate.
If a default background check package wasn’t previously associated with the position, you will be required to:
- Select the package from the "Test" dropdown
- Assign a team member to review the results (“grader”)
Once sent, Certn emails the candidate with a secure link to submit their background check info. The stage status will update as the check progresses.
⚠️ Note: Avoid completing the Greenhouse scorecard for this stage before the background check is finished - it can split the stage into two parts. If this happens, the scorecard grader will still need to complete another scorecard after the background results have been returned.
View and grade your resultsOnce the background check is complete:
- The assigned grader will receive an email notification to review results..
- They can access the report by clicking into the “details”and “Go to Test”
- From there, they can view the results and complete the grading process.
Once graded, this stage is marked complete and you can move forward in your hiring process.
