Notice effective October 26th, 2025
On October 26, 2025, an issue during Certn’s automated nightly webhook verification check caused the verification to fail for a number of clients at the same time. As a result, some clients received an email stating that the daily verification of their webhook had failed and that webhooks would no longer be sent to their endpoint until it was re-verified.
The failures were not caused by problems with clients’ integrations. They occurred during our verification run, and the affected endpoints have since been confirmed to be responding correctly.
Impact on Certn services
Affected clients might have experienced the following:
- Receipt of an email notification that the daily webhook verification failed
- Webhook events (such as background check status updates) not being delivered to their endpoint while their webhook was paused
- Delays in their systems receiving automated updates from Certn
Return of services
Certn has confirmed that the affected webhook endpoints are responding correctly and has re-enabled webhooks for all impacted clients. We will continue to monitor the verification process and will address any issues promptly.
Next steps
No action is required from affected clients. Certn has re-enabled webhooks on your behalf.
If you would like webhook delivery restored in the future, a user with Integrations or Public API access in the Client Portal can re-verify the webhook:
- Go to Settings → Integrations → Webhooks
- Open the affected webhook
- Click Verify
If the endpoint passes the test, webhook delivery will be turned back on right away.
